Where a Timeless Chesed Becomes Tradition
Marking 22 Years of our Commitment to Needy Kallahs

Twenty-two years ago, on 22 Sh'vat 5748, Batya Zakheim Brecher, a"h, was tragically taken from us. Batya was a radiant kallah, exploding with the happiness of youth and eager for the prospects of her new life. Those who were fortunate to have known her refused to accept an end to the beauty and exuberance that Batya brought to the world. In her 19 short years, Batya touched countless people with her simchas hachaim. Determined to perpetuate her memory and continue the chesed which Batya saw as her life's mission, her family and close friends founded Yad Batya L'Kallah.

Financial limitations must not be allowed to cast pallor on what should be the happiest time of a girl's life. Our primary objective is to contribute to the simcha by reaching out to every kallah in need and provide her with essential household items: milchig and fleishig dishes, stainless flatware, pots and pans, small kitchen appliances, quilts, pillows, linen, and towels – all of the finest quality.

Yad Batya L'Kallah annually distributes more than 600 kallah packages throughout North America and approximately another 400 modified packages in Yerushalayim. To date, we have provided for more than 10,000 kallahs with the anonymity and dignity that are the distinct hallmarks of Yad Batya L'Kallah. We consult with Da'as Torah and community leaders regarding each request. Once a kallah's eligibility is determined, she is assigned a confidential identification number to protect her privacy. Volunteers pick up the packaged items at YBLK headquarters and deliver them to each kallah, often under the guise of bridal shower gifts.

The continued success of Yad Batya L'Kallah depends entirely upon your benevolent support. Compassionate suppliers allow us to buy quality merchandise at wholesale prices. All office work and fundraising events are managed by our devoted staff of volunteers, guaranteeing that virtually every dollar goes directly to hachnosas kallah.
